Hey, let's get this board talking about exciting things other than how this team is destined to damnation!

In talking with some people at the NSC I believe that they are interested in working with the creative members of the Dark Clouds/General Fans to create a new scoreboard. Paul mentioned it at the summit.

What would we want to see from a scoreboard as previously discussed (one we make!)?

The current idea being bounced around is to have the new scoreboard placed atop the Schwans Center (building over looking stadium in NE corner) and be of manual style.

I seem to remember both Seamonster and Bruce mentioning the St. Pauli scoreboard as inspiration. What else do we need to have this be the most unique thing in the league, rather than the same old, same old of giant electronic scoreboard or, the Golf Cart Scoreboard of 2009?

Where would we find one of those large dials? Seems to me like that is the big missing piece to this puzzle. Obviously, if we come up with a plan, and it is approved, this would be financed by the NSC. Judging by their willingness to listen to fans I think we would at least get to present the idea to 'em.

This can be fun, and rather flaming each other on a message board about our own knowledge of soccer (sheepishly raising my hand) we can concentrate on making the facility "our own!"

How big a dial is that - 24" or maybe 36"? Also, is that just a regular clock, or is it something that starts at 45 and goes down to 0? I probably know a company that could make something like that, and once a logo/badge is agreed upon, could make it with that on the clock face if desired.

the dial does not seem like it would be that hard to make.

They already have a scoreboard. Have you never noticed it?

Jeff, that is a valid point and that scoreboard is currently standing next the exhibition field. A similar one stood in the old stadium, but my understanding is that the one pictured will remain put and a new one will be constructed/bought and why not try a DIY manual one that is all cool looking?

What size clock face do you all think is needed? Who wants to help come up with a plan?

Awesome. I will see if I can reserve a green side breakout room for our planning meeting.

Don't worry. The Thunder are going to build one. They told me last year.

I love this idea.
Clock: block out the 45 minutes for first half, then the remaining 15 minutes for half time.

Scoreboard: just like at St. Pauli ... hang the numbers, it's as simple as that.

I'd love to work up some drawings for this, for as was mentioned earlier this could be the most unique piece in American Soccer Specific Stadium.
