I have come to conclusion that any Discussion Board works better when the Original Thread Starter Post is repeat Posted at the Top of each subsequent Page - We have a relatively NEW collection here of the most rambling, Off SUBJECT posting bozos on Planet Earth who don't know the difference between posting to a Thread or their own personal BLOG - They then whine & cry & bitch about being unwelcomed & get their feelings hurt if someone asks them to get on Subject vice starting flame wars & getting off Topic - At least Mods can say they tried if we tack a reminder of what the hell the Thread was about at top each page.

- This NEW Software allows us to update Thread Subject "on the fly" with your Post as I have done several times in an attempt to "chase" the New Subject - But I'm not so sure yet that's a good or bad thing___? - Is that ability to "flow with it" the fix or part of the problem___?

- There are totally Off Subject Posts that need to be DELETED, failure to do so is just breeding bad Posters.

- COMBINING & DIVIDING some Threads is in order too... there are about 12 rambling Threads in 6 different Areas of Board on NASL/USL/TOA alone... If it's a different NASL / USL Subject then fine... but if it's the same old drivel then combine it with the other relavent drivel as it is currently OOC~!

- I realize w/transition to new Software & League & Division & Team changes the Board has been high maintenance lately but now that all the brackets are settled it's time to do some pre-Season house cleaning around here - LOVE, Uncle Buck

BUCK, you are right. I am starting to look at that reorganization effort.

The ability to make a thread description repeat anew at the top of each page is something I can take a look at, but don't recall seeing any way to make that happen.

Perhaps the better way there is not allow it to be changed from its original entry. I do believe that is configurable and something I can disallow.

Thanks for the ideas and input.

Cheers,
Dan

It's actually probably the oldest software I see on an old car Board I post on that repeats the original POST top each subsequent page.

- & Again I'm not sure if the ability to change Subject is a great fix for "Subject flow" or part of the problem so we need some more Feedback on that from competent Posters.

- I say make Bernie a MOD over a key sub-Forum or 2... let him sort it out & tighten things up a tad - We need some help & he knows the deal.

You certainly have given this a great deal of thought. Dan B assures me you are a terrific fellow, so I will take his word for it and try to be as diplomatic as possible. I did not claim that I was unwelcomed, as unwelcomed is not a word, but I did indeed state that this is not a very welcoming place for newcomers. You bolster this point by stating outright that We have a relatively NEW collection here of the most rambling, Off SUBJECT posting bozos on Planet Earth . Expressing an opinion that differs from yours is to whine & cry & bitch. Do you want the joint to yourself? Is that your goal? Not everyone is going to follow your posting protocol, or even give it much thought at all. Who cares? The more the merrier. In my short time here I have seen many new people post, get flamed, and go away. This does no one any good. Show some respect.

I PM'd you a reply as IMO it does not belong in this Thread - PM'ing someone is when you Click on their name BTW ... & Feel free to Quote my PM & Post it up somewhere deep if it makes you feel better.

I just wanted to follow up on the changing "Subject" question.

So far it appears that this is something I cannot change. I will be checking on the features of the next version to see if this has changed. Also I would note that I have been to other boards where this same complaint has been posted.

Cheers,
Dan

& I repeat that as long as we ramble & change Subjects within a Thread like we do here lately that feature may NOT be a bad thing if we use it - At least you'll know what they are talking about once you get there vice the original Topic of Thread you clicked on.
