Saturday, September 20, 2008 Still Kicking. A funny game is football. Sometimes one teams just has anothers number. That is the only logical explanation for the recent run of form for the Railhawks against the Charleston Battery.
The Carolina RailHawks defeated the Charleston Battery for the third time this season. The final score was 2-1. Hamed Diallo scoring a first half brace for the RailHawks. The Railhawks looked pretty good throughout the first half. Nice one touch passing, and always looked the threat on the counter.
The second half saw Charleston put an insane amount of pressure on Carolina, getting the one goal.. and most importantly ONLY that one goal.
With the win, Carolina has retained the Southern Derby championship and are still in the hunt for the playoffs. The boys will be playing again tonight at home, in Cary, against the Portland Timbers. Some might call it a long shot, but it's still a possibility for the Railhawks to nab the seventh and final playoff spot. What needs to happen: RailHawks win and aa loss or a tie by both Atlanta and Minnesota. So everyone keep your fingers crossed.
