Cincinnati Kings now an amateur team

Cincinnati now is fielding an 'amateur' team. To me it is sad news as I always look forward to the 'professional' format.
The problem as I see it is how the club is treating this move. The website as totally changed in almost ignoring the senior team. No more news on the league nor is there a link to uslfans.com any longer. The team roster has not been finalized and here we are with a game this weekend.
Kings, if you are reading this please take note. Treat the senior team at your soccer academy with some more respect. Feature them on the website as if they are a professional team. Keep the web site professional at least. You will lose supporters if you dont and if you do make the step back up to the professional level you will not be such an unknown.
Keep the marketing of this team at a professional level. The marketing has gone down in value since this move.

After reading these posts throughout the years, I finally had to say something to you Cinci Mike. SHUT UP! What have you ever done for Cincinnati soccer except whine and criticize? While some of us were pitching in for several professional teams (Cheetahs, Silverbacks, Riverhawks, etc.) you just sat on your high horse. Well enough is enough; if you're not going to do your part then just give it a rest.

Lose supporters? I think you need to actaully have to BE a supporter in order to complain about anything. But I don't think that ever stopped Mike.

Does anyone know of the strengths and weaknesses that were shown in the first match? Can anyone make any predictions for the season? As for me being negative.... Try sitting through a season like I just did with Derby and try and see things in a positive light. It's bloody hard I tell you. Next season will be different under PJ though. UP THE RAMS AND KINGS!

It would appear that the Kings have to promote themselves more. Even though they lost(3-0) to Cleveland, the turnout(250) is far from the crowds you had last season. The Kings still need supporters!

The Kings still need supporters! As I stated before, I have noticed a decline in the club promoting itself. How can the club expect people to support them when they are not being given any information about the club. Since the change to the lower league, the club seems to have taken a serious downturn. You have to keep the supporters involved with the team. It appears the club believes that by supporting the Northern Kentucky youth teams they will not have to worry about fan support. What needs to be done? Get the website up to par. It appears to be a youth soccer team website. There are no links to the uslfans.com site as there once was and player bios are rubbish. Start treating this team as a professional team. Promote the team over the entire tr-state area and not just in Northern Kentucky. Was there a writeup about the Kings this season in the Enquirer? Will there be any team nights at any pub with the audio available to listen to through the web? Kings, step it up. Thanks,

I agree, Mike. The Kings should be pulling out all their resources to get fans to the games. It should not matter what stats the team is in, they are still playing. It could be worse, look where we were last season! Your p.r. guy needs to get to work on better promoting them.

Nice to see the Brian Clough trophy will be up for grabs twice next season.

The Dates and times of the games have been in the paper and they had the Kings Weekly update this week too. Now as for their ground work I'm not sure.
As I said before the merger has probably been something that has taken up a lot of their time, plus its still the first year of owning Town and Country. Hopefully it will become a smoother transition.

I agree with Sturrious. I'm sure(or hoping) they are working on building a solid base to help the club grow and sustain itself. I wish they would do more marketing of the team itself and the games, maybe do some game promotions, but I don't know if they have the staff/money/time to put to it if they are running the complex, the team, the youth team, and the academies.
It would be interesting to know if they have any sort of timetable as to moving the team back up into the professional ranks.

Whats with this team! I used to love the Kings. They used to put the fans first and were a professional franchise first and foremost. Now the team has moved from the professional USL Second Division to the amateur Premier Development League. I was angry because attendance has kept going up and merchandise sales seems to be good and the Kings had just purchased Town & Country Sports & Health Club and gave the possibility of building an actual soccer specific stadium. They never let it slip that the PDL was an amateur league either so the casual soccer fan could easily be fooled. Amazingly ticket and merchandise sales haven't gone down so I wonder where all the money is going if not to the players. I came to terms with this but when they moved their official site from www.cincinnatikings.com to www.kingssa.com it crossed the line. The KingsSA stands for Kings Soccer academy. You know where a team's priorities lie when their website name highlights their youth league rather than the actual team! Even more annoying is the little news, other than game scores, that the website gives to the actual team. But news on the soccer academy is updated daily. Where did this once proud franchise go?

Have heard that next season "Cincinnati" will be dropped from the PDL name all together and KingsSA or some form will be the new name of the franchise.

And this is why the team is no longer getting my support sadly to say. How much would you like to wager that the above is why the majority of the coaching staff is gone as well? The Cincinnati Professional franchise has left the building and has been replaced by a youth soccer club. Hopefully Cincinnati can get a professional team back in the area at some time in the future. I remember when The Riverhawks at one time were drawing about 4,000 a game out by Kings Island. The fanbase is there waiting to be treated to a professional atmosphere.

At least you still have a team. Imagine if the Kings had gone on hiatus like the Hounds did, how would you feel? My guess is that you'd feel worse.

ok and wait... 4,000 a game for the Hawks...I had season tickets for the begining years until they moved to Town and Country, and no they didn't.
and cincy mike. You say that you don't support the Kings anymore and that your above statement may be be why the coaching staff may be gone. First Pickup is now the DOC for the Kingssa and John is with CUP which I can imagine he is busy with them merging with Sycamore and Lakota to become a designated youth club of the CREW.
anyways as for the "proffesional team first" comments... Look at some of the USL-2 clubs thay have a youth program. they are still around. can you imagine the potential income/cost saving of having of the youth program?
Let me know if you know something I don't.
Can we talk about something that has foresight. like the new turf in november and potentially the new stands by next season.
Or about the boring play on the field. I'm okay with actual game talk rather than speculation about whether the Kings care anymore...yawn
