Richmond 1-1--2
Cincinnati 1-0--1

Richmond- Pascale; Jones; Williams; McEachron; Goodlet (Wolfe 46'); Knight; Gorres; Watson (Bulow 56'); Burke (Fenemore 82'); Carrieri (Morris 90'); Ssejjemba (Dotsenko 78')

Goals- Watson (Ssejjemba) 41; Burke 61' (pen)

Bookings- None

Cincinnati- James; Pickup; McCloskey; Smith; Fiore; Jones (Koshi 76'); Hermanns (M.McGinlay 76'); Alexander; Barton; Jaman; Krause

Goal- Barton 45+'

Bookings- Fiore 14'; Krause 31'; Jones 47'

Referee- James Conlee (2 1/2 seeing eye dogs) (Not BAD, but how he and his assistants James' blatent intentional elbow of David Bulow is beyond me.

Thoughts- Closer game then it should have been, Cincinnati has alot of talent and outplayed Richmond at times. Both goals that were scored in live play were things of beauty. An open question... How can someone as fat as John McGinlay have such thin skin?? Thanks for the fingers McGinlay, I'll use them well... You... just enjoy your sheep and haggis laddie. :Big Grin:

Be proud, Kings fans. At least your score was respectable. The hounds fell, 4-0.

one good thing is that the Kings didn't give up any early goals like they have in the past.

I think the Kings are in a very good position to overtake the Kickers, with the home field advantage on Sunday, and a great turnout. I'd like to see that happen.

I don't take things like that personally... its all in good fun, most of the time... I just couldn't believe he was so easy to wind up.
I have to say though he was NOT a happy man at the end of the game. I really wouldn't have wanted to be on the Kings bus home last night.

i hope he wasn't happy at the end of the game. no coach should be happy when the team loses. one thing is that it looks like Pickup started last night and if you look at the stats, the Kings don't usually win when he is in the lineup. he's a great coach, but having the coach on the field isn't always a good thing. i wonder if he was playing because of injuries. if thats the case, i hope that all the guys are healthy for tomorrows game.

sorry, cincy. you're going down. it's inevitable.

and not to wish pain on another human, but perhaps jordan james will catch an elbow in his eye this time...and the refs will be looking the other way.

I don't think it's as inevitable as what the hounds went thru, Joshua. I look for the Kings to win.

Considering that you also looked for the Fleabags to win, I feel better about our chances now laugh

Seriously though, I'm not counting any chickens yet.

Well, I think we would have fared better if we had been matched with the Kickers. At least we earned a point against you.
But the Kings are a good team and I think they will give you a battle. Anyone who feels otherwise is either overconfindent or kidding themselves.

A point in a game that was called off at half time. The Hounds we lucky that we didn't have another 45 minutes to get the three points we undoubtedly would have. No matter, the Hounds are history now. Go Kickers!

So which were you when you said that the Hounds would beat Charlotte? Overconfindent? Overconfident? Kidding yourself? Both?

Nope not wishful at all (speculative perhaps) - I don't really care that we didn't sweep the Hounds this season, I'm just saying that the draw only came as a result of the game being abondoned.

oh, i'm sure it will be a tough game, especially on astroturf, and although anything can happen, it's obvious who the better team is...with or without the stats. better, classier, and talented players of the beautiful game. it's been amazing watching them all season (except for those wilmington games!). i guess cincy could throw some more elbows...they're pretty good at that...otherwise, forget it.

(sorry for the attitude! i'm in a crappy mood!) go kickers!

Obvious to who? I think both teams are evenly matched the Kings could easily win when they are at their best. I hope they get another 1,700+ in there later.

btw, Joshua, if you think it's obvious-obviously, you have been watching the wrong series. Focus on the one you are in, not on the one the hounds were eliminated from.

That was random, I think I just worked out what you were trying to say (that the only obvious "better team" was Charlotte over Pittsburgh?).

I agree with Joshua, Richmond are the better team, they finished higher in the standings and outplayed the Kings on Friday. However, we all know it's not always the best team that wins, so we have to make sure we take care of business tonight.

Well said EF smile

That's why we play the playoffs...because the best team doesn't always win.

Since Chuckles is still obviously fixated on the "other" series (considering he brought it up and Joshua didn't), it did work out that the best team won in that one, didn't it? laugh

ok, I admit. Charlotte has a great team and I think that no matter who ends up of this series, the Eagles will win the title again. My preference(as everyone knows) is that the Kings finish as their opponent.

oh, i'm totally focused. the last thing i'm thinking about is/was eagles vs. hounds. (in fact, i think i just yawned thinking about it.) the kickers totally outplayed the kings at home...the goals just didn't fall. i guess that's why it's obvious to me. that, and oh, maybe because they lead in almost all stats categories this season.

no big deal, though. none of us have any idea what will happen tonight, especially me. it's just kind of fun talking crap about it, though. damn, soccer is great, isn't it?!

Cincy, your guys made us work for the semi-finals win. Congrats on a great season, and for being only one of two teams that were able to beat us during the regular season.

It was a very good game. Both teams came out playing though I think the Kings had Richomnd playing more defense than they wanted to in the first half. Some shots, but very few for either team. Second half was similar, though Richmond attacked more and was able to stymie the Kings chances. Cincy had some chances in the end, but Pascale was never really tested.

Congrats to Richmond for a well played series. Good luck against Charlotte.

One thing about the game surprised me...there were very few people from the Pride at the game. I would have thought that they would be out in full force for the Kings first playoff game. Go figure.

ok, who in the hell are you? I know more about the game then anyone I know. I am a supporter. where have you been this season and last? oh yeah I don't want excuses. I have a job and I coach soccer. I can't change my schedule within 6 days to come out for a game. I was at all but one because of commitments. I just spent all night out with the kings, I was thanked by everyone from Travis Sobers to Burklo to Van Frank to Derek Smith and Caldwell for my support all season. if those guyscan recognize me at a ber then I would say that is worth something. I give all I can to this club and organization. I personally brought over 50 people to the games this season. What in the hell can you say to that?...but go figure

Wow...chill out man. I was just making an observation. Sorry you couldn't make it out to the game. I had heard that there were people from the Pride not at the game because they were upset with the Kings for some reason.
