Heard recently that four kings players have just been cut.

If it is true, I can't believe it

what? i can't believe that they would cut 4 players like that. any reason why? its not like they have a deep bench to replace 4 players. i am finding this hard to believe.

they explanation was that they are going in a different direction and that the team is divided.

What direction would that be? Coach playing full time, coach's son playing full time, and cutting that many quality players.

Sad day for Kings fans.

I haven't got all the details but I confirmed with one of the players that it is true.

Why? The team still is here, they haven't left town. So the team has decided to go in a different direction. At 4-5-3, maybe they felt that the team as structured was not coming together, or was not getting the job done? Maybe they feel that it is time to bring in some new faces to see if they can get this team to gel over the second half of the season and make a playoff run. Yes, I liked those players too, but why would I be sad, the team is trying to improve itself.

This news does not shock me. Particularly two of the names mentioned. I will not comment on that any further until it's been confirmed, but, the team is/was definitely fragmented. As for Pickup playing all the time and the young McGinlay doing likewise, I don't see either as necessarily being bad for the team. Pickup is the steadying influence you need on defense, McGinlay Sr. serves as bench boss during games and McGinlay's Jr. has a tremendous work rate and should be playing. Two of the players named are two of my favorites, but, they are not happy nor have they been shy letting others know about it.

Well said Sack. For a team to be successful, it has to come together and play for each other and with each other, if some of your players are not doing that, then you have to get rid of them. I agree with you wholeheartedly about McGinlay and Pickup. Hopefully, we may see some new faces moving in to help out with the stretch run here.

Yeah I think I know the two as well you mean. Not sure how to take this news, surprise to me is we have now cut six guys for apparent attitude problems. Anyone else worried a few other players might get the axe before season end?

Whatever the case we do need to find at least a couple guys to come in as bench players as our roster will now be looking slim. Be interesting Friday to see how we respond.
