On the entertainment side, for the Puerto Rico and Rochester fans watching the June 3rd game on USL Live; professional clowns Alejandro Portillo (or Gordillo, we couldn't really tell) and Eduardo Allende provided live and comical commentary.

Included below are some of Alejandro and Eduardo's funny tales:

- They didn't seem to know either teams line-ups

- They had a difficult time figuring out early in the 1st half, which one of the Delgados was the Islanders captain (answer is Noah)

- They didn't seem to know the Islanders goal keeper's name until late in the 2nd half. (They kept referring to Josh Saunders as the "goal keeper of PR").

- When Alan Marcina came in the game, they referred to him as Mauricio Allan.

- They referred to the Islanders coach Toribio Rojas. (They didn't seem to know about Rojas' dismissal two weeks ago).

- They kept referring to the Islanders players they couldn't identify as Delgado. (Check the USL Live OnDemand when Needham was in the 2nd half).

- They kept talking about the fans in Atlanta. (They seem to think that Rochester is in Atlanta).

- They kept making funny remarks like "The team that makes the goal wins".

I missed yesterday's game, as I was watching the TNA Wrestling show at the "Choliseo", so I decided to watch the game on USL Live when I got home, and man, I don't know how they became comentators in the first place, as BoriQa mentioned, they forgot that Toribio Rojas got laid off as head coach two weeks ago, and also making funny remarks. One thing, I'm Hispanic as well, but one thing that really bugs me is that you either speak English, or Spanish, but don't make coments in Spanglish, as most people who watch USL Live are not fluent in Spanish. Also they refered to Marco Velez as "The Destructor"... that word doesn't show up in the Websters dictionary... if you want to give him an English nickname, it will be like "The Puerto Rican Destroyer", or something like that. My advice for next game, put serious, and OBJECTIVE commentators on the USL Live matches. If you want to add someone to do funny remarks, better hire Jerry "The King" Lawler for color commetator!!!

I don't think that the commentators need to be objective (after all, they are paid by the home team) but they do need to be prepared and polished.

Our USL Live commentary needs a lot of work.
I am not sure that they are paid professionals. We have had different commentator formulas since the initial braodcast and it seems that whenever we use the younger guys, the product suffers more.
They need to be developed. Even when we use the older guy (I can't remeber his name), it is obvious that soccer is not his strongest area.

That is putting things as diplomatically as I can.

Well, I should probably take it to myself to work for this guys some day and do a decent play by play. I knew the play by play spanish commentator for the Islanders, his name is Oscar Marin, but I dont know if he does it anymore. He used to be pretty decent and we worked together in radio for a little bit... Anyway, again this is another reason for soccer not being popular in Puerto Rico. These guys embarrasing the team and like you said, we are the ones who have to pay for this. We should talk to this people, in fact let me get the email for the team and lets let them know about this...that way maybe they will act on it...
