Marco Velez and Noah Delgado make the USL-1 Team of the Week

For the 6th straight week, the Puerto Rico Islanders have a member in the USL-1 Team of the Week. For Week 6, two Islanders made the cut!

Defense Marco Velez and midfielder Noah Delgado were both recognized for their excellent play during Saturday's "Revenge" win against the Thunder in Minnesota.

Marco Velez was recognized for leading the defense, and Noah Delgado for scoring 2 goals in the Islander sweet victory. It was the Islanders first win under "General" Colin Clarke, and their first win in 7 games.

Along with Velez and Delgado, defenses Scot Thompson (Portland), Danny Jackson (Seattle) and Chris Corcoran (Charleston); and midfielders Roger Levesque (Seattle) and Johnny Menyongar (Rochester) also made the Team of the Week.

Also in the Team of the Week were goal keeper Chris McClellan (California), and forwards Charles Gbeke (Montreal), Matthew Delicate (Rochester) and Bryan Jordan (Portland). Matthew Delicate was also selected the Player of the Week.

The Islanders selected to the Team of the Week in the previous 5 weeks are Alen Marcina, Josh Saunders (2 times), Mauricio Segovia and Melvin Tarley. Josh Saunders was selected Player of the Week for the 3rd week.
