Thanks Pr'rican!!! smile

Ok. So this post isn't 8 pages long, I'm going to break down my thoughts a bit at a time.

First, the good: Kennedy, Villegas, Norkus.

We all figured that all of the Puerto Ricans were going to be resigned for next season. That is except for the "Naturalized" Puerto Rican Gores.

Let's just tell it like it is- Chris really, really struggled this season. There were times that he played well but there were a lot of times when I think that even he would admit he didn't have the kind of performance that he management or the fans had anticipated. I realize that he was the capitan, that he is a really nice guy and that he 'naturalized' to play internationally for the country but having said all of that--I didn't think that they would bring him back without management drastically changing his role on the team. Sounds like they are willing to bring him back if he accepts a new role (and a paycut).

I don't think that they are going to bring him back because I don't think that he is going to accept a big paycut. At a certain point during the negotiations, he is going to become very offended by what they offer him after all that he did for the club the first two seasons as the official leader of the club...

I'm worried about letting Zuleta go. I hope next year we have 8 defensemen.

Pleasant surprise that Villegas and Kennedy are staying. F-ing F-antastic!

I don't want to see Zuleta go either.

Too bad that he isn't a priority for management. One our supporters who used to talk with him a lot told me that if management wanted him back then he would come back and that he is going to play in Panama during the offseason.

Jred. Thanks a lot for the info. Mad props to you our friend.

Mauricio is a great player and an incredibly nice guy. He is still in negotiations with Islanders management to come back next year. He is easily the most popular player on our club. I hope that we can bring him back but like I have said before, minimum--the guy really should be starting in MLS or some league at a higher level than this one. His talent needs to be on a bigger stage.

I will be very curious to see how he adapts to MISL> When the Steamers come to play the Baltimore Blast, I will definitely go to see them play and try to visit with Mauricio.

Islanders fans love that guy.
