Got an e-mail last night from the club announcing plans to have a fan bus to Foxboro for the Harrisburg City Islanders vs. N.E. Revolution tilt on Wednesday, August 8th. Cost was estimated at around $75 per passenger.

C'mon, Islanders fans, let's have a big contingent. Contact the club (http://www.cityislanders.com/) for information.

Hope you get a good contingent of folks. All the best for the Isles against the Revs. I know that in the past the Hounds tried to get some of these buses for playoff and USOC matches but there was not enough interest (at least to the ones I was aware of). See you here next year in the Burgh'.

Thanks for the Pennsylvania support. We're hoping for a good result against NE. It's gonna' be a game - NE played its starters against Rochester in the last round, so you know we'll see Twellman, Ralston, et al.

First things first, though. Three points needed against Crystal Palace tonight! Islanders are in the hunt! cool

Does anyone know if you can get game tickets through the City Islanders? Or do you have through NE?

Being that the game is in New England, I'm sure you have to contact the Revs.

FWIW, the proposed price of the fan bus includes the $10. ticket.

Not necesarily. Sometimes the visiting will purchase a block of tickets that they can sell to their own fans. Since they buy it in bulk they get a discounted price that they can then pass on to the fans.

Rumor is that the Kickers had some extra tickets for their OC game in Carolina, besides the ones that are included with the bus trip. Have no idea how accurate that is. But it definitley wouldn't be out of the realm for either them or the City Islandsers to have some

Turns out you were right, futbol49. Trip has been called off. Not enough interest.

What's the matter people??!!

I'm sure the interest is there, but work gets in the way. Things come up that prevent fans from being able to make the time to leave on the trip, either financially or time-wise.

PH - sorry to hear about that. I know that when the Hounds had to face DCU in 03', the bus was cancelled but the front office was good enough to give us the name of a couple of guys who wanted to carpool and split the costs, and we ended up doing just that and making a few new friends out of the deal. I am not sure with rules being tight these days with giving out personal info and all if they would do that . Hopefully you can find some folks to make the trip...and yes, show the MLS a little more of what the Isles can bring! All the best.

PH - your Iles gave the Revs quite a game...did you make it up? If so, can you give us a short synopsis?

Unfortunately, no. The team tried to organize a fan bus but apparently there was insufficient interest.

Did listen on 'Net radio, and the second half sounded pretty even. The Revs started 9 regulars, so you know they were serious about winning. Two quick goals by the Revs (while the Isles were still in awe of playing the Revs in Gillette Stadium? Smart move of the Revs to move the game there) were all the offense they needed. Isles kept the heat on the rest of the game, but all they could come up with was Matt "Taz" Tanzini's 35-yard direct kick that he ripped into the upper 90.
