I'd guess it's probably over now, at least one. Isles/Kings could be a real battle.

CINCINNATI, OH -- The Cincinnati Kings opened their inaugural year in the United Soccer Leagues Saturday night with a 0-0 tie against the Harrisburg City Islanders in the season opener for both teams at the Xavier University Soccer Complex.

In front of a packed house of 1,422, the Kings had the edge over the City Islanders in shots on goal, 16 to 13. The Kings' best chance to score came late in the second half when the Kings' Jack Cummings had a penalty kick and rebound stopped just short of the goal.

"Missed opportunities cost us the game," said Head Coach Jon Pickup. "We had at least five great opportunities to score, but when you don't put the ball in the net, you don't have a chance."

The City Islanders, a USL playoff team last year, made five saves against the Kings, while Cincinnati had six saves. "I liked the way we limited them to very few opportunities," said Pickup. "We played well as a unit and helped each other on defense."

The next game for the Kings will be on the road next Friday, April 22nd at 5 p.m. against the Northern Virginia Royals. The next Kings home game will be Saturday, April 30th at 7:30 p.m. when they play host to the Western Mass Pioneers at the Xavier Soccer Complex
