Hey, you guys could get your own board in the PDL section of this site. I contacted DanB and asked him to open up the New Orleans, Texas Spurs and Austin boards and he opened them up. I am sure that he would the same for St. Louis.
The New Orleans and Texas boards are doing well and I'm sure based on the discussion here that the St. Louis board would also do well.

I heard (or read) that Nashville refused to play on the first field offered, one that was unlighted, and settled for the mud-bowl they were given. I wonder what the conditions have to be like for a team to refuse to play? I know the Express refused to play the last game of the road trip last year, they were awarded a forfeit from Houston and I believe Houston had to pay a fine for Memphis travelling and then not getting to play a game. But I don't know under what conditions this can happen, for instance grass is to be cut 1.5", if it is 2" can they refuse to play or what? i think the strikers get gate, sportport gets parking (which is almost as much as admission, and since to get to the concession stand you have to actually BE in the stands for the main field, it's pretty easy to get into the game w/o paying) and concessions. i'm actually not sure about their fee arrangement outside of that-- i thought i'd heard that they are paying them fees for practice and game fields, but i guess that could be wrong. that said, it would surprise me if the strikers people were as mad as they are at sportport if they were getting free fields. the field sportport offered was a joke. it was one of the back fields (all but the main one are horrible), and it was indeed unlighted. i think the reason the metros refused to play on it was more the condition of the field than the lack of lights-- they were afraid someone would get hurt.

big win tonight v chicago fire reserves-- beat them 4-3 (got a little hairy at the end) for only their second loss. that's 3 wins in a row for the strikers, and they're looking tough. it looks like the coaches have decided to use a younger team (actually focusing on the "development" part), and so far it's paying off.

i think i'm talking to myself here, but another good win today, this time 4-3 (again, got too close at the end) over kc. the strikers are really looking good-- creating a ton of chances, and are more solid at the back. the kc offside trap was a little bit off (though one of the stl goals was clearly offside), and the strikers probably had 10 chances 1 on 1 with the keeper who came up HUGE in the first half. it could have been 4-0 after about 20 minutes, but he stoned vedod ibisevic four times in a row when he was in alone. the weather was also a factor-- it was about 90 with high humidity, and you could see the energy level really drop towards the end of each half.
