Sorry to see the announcement on Carolina dropping down. I was sort of hoping that the fans would turn out for the team. You've got some really dedicated fans. I imagine this will cut the times we (Wilmington v. Carolina) face each other down to two.

CC, we could speak for hours on attendance issue. So many things don't add up as so often happens when you do not know all the facts. Attendance has just not been there. Major mistake in my humble opinion was GM's first, strongly suggesting players NOT coach local Greensboro Soccer Club teams, then actually putting it in the contract (last two years). But that is just one thing and seemingly should have been overcome. From where I stand he did nothing to embrace any of the local (Greensboro, Burlington, High Point, Jamestown, Winston Salem) boy's clubs which just seems odd. Advertising and promotion were minimal, but that is probably a budgetary issue.

Economy here is tough, but we had heard sponsorship was up. One thing that can not be questioned is owner MacPherson's financial commitment. He certainly has given the area a more than fair shake at having a professional team. So all we can do is respect his decision to do what is necessary to keep things afloat and wait for better times.

It appeared Dynamo made an effort this year to find players more commited to the team (as opposed to last several years of finding "hired guns" that were only waiting for the call from bigger clubs) and there were those of us hoping the continuity would build local support. Guess it was just too little, too late. There are plenty of college players in this area, so I am sure they will put out a good team on that level. Just a little disappointed we didn't get over the hump.

Coaching youth clubs would seem to me to be part and parcel with being partners with Greensboro Youth Soccer...or is there really no connection there aside from being neighbors. On paper the Dynamo should have been in a good position...with Chapel Hill, Durham, Winston-Salem, Asheboro, etc. with in an hours drive. But yeah definitely not being able to coach youth clubs is definitely a hinderance...now that I think of it Carolina doesn't seem to draw a lot of kids by proportion to the crowd.
