Anyone know whether or not Carolina is going to return to the PSL in 2005? Originally they said that they were only going to step down for a year and then return to the PSL.

It's a hard arguement.
Play the same teams, pay the same travel costs. Pay less for league costs and pay nothing for player salaries or workmens comp.
I've always been a proponent for the professional ranks, but I'm not sure it is a valid separator anymore from a business perspective.

That way you could use their sales and marketing staff. I wonder if we'll see any more of the A-League teams add a PDL or W-League team like Richmond. It would seem ideal for the teams in the East to do this at a minimum increase in their budgets. They wouldn't have to increase their staffs and the biggest cost would be travel.

im actually in the works for another team in north carolina. asheville, thats where im from. we have a w-league team the asheville splash so i want to put a mens team there. asheville is the only metro area in nc without a mens soccer team. the stadium that the women play in is going to be renovated in a 4 year project. i am going to talk to the splash management about placing a mens pdl or psl team in asheville. the expansion fees between pdl and psl is only a 30,000 dollar difference so i think an extra 30,000 invested is worth it to make the team a d3 team only thing is that i need to talk with usl on whether they can handle expansion in the d3 league. my work is just begining. wish me luck everyone. if anyone has any ideas that can help me or any suggestions let me know thanks

A-U, I wish you well, every time I look at Asheville on the scoresheet, I keep wondering why they dont have a men's team. I hope that keeps the PSL(formerly D3 Pro) around. Also, I've heard the question asked about why the PDL plays the PSL. I wonder that myself, but I have an educated guess, I think they play the PSL to give the amateur players professional experience, which will be needed when they move up. www.soccersheet.com (Covering the hounds and Sparks-is there a future?) Looking for more readers

I don't think that Asheville will be back in the W-League.
