Ok guys, not a bad start really in the friendly...of course we could use more people and more understanding of all the chants but thats what a friendly is for anyways.

So this thread is for all the preparations for the home opener. I think we said to meet up maybe an hour before kickoff so around like 6:30.

I'll create another Facebook Event thing for it and I'll also try to get out and get some fabric for a green and orange striped flag for us.

Anything else for the game just post it here!

Ya the friendly was a great way to see what we have. Having everyone meet in the parking lot early before the game is a good idea. We can practice chants, drink , and just hang out out there till the start of the game.

I had alot of fun last night at the game, especially distracting the players. Thats what we are there for. And alot of positive feed back after the game. Lets keep it going. GO BUCKS!!!

Guys remember that the first two home games this season double as US Open Cup qualifiers, so this Saturday and next Saturday in Canton really are huge.

We qualified by the skin of our teeth last year in a 3-3 draw with Ft. Wayne.

A lot of people were impressed with you guys the other night, keep it up.

That is a good little fact to know...means we have to work extra hard to get some more people out so we can make the US Open Cup!

Also Craig...nice one remember 5 teeth, 11 players, 1 dream...their sisters!

I like that one too. Hey i got some bad news. Im going to be moving to Florida here in like on the 20th. I know it sucks but ill be going to school down there at USF. Ill have the season tickets whenever they get here so if any of your friend are interested in getting season tickets ill sell mine for cheap. Im pissed that im leaving and mad that i have to leave this group. I see alot of potential in it getting bigger. Dont worry ill be at the West Virginia game for sure ( my last one) with beer in the parking lot an hour before the game starts. Later guys.

P.S. And i got streamers.

That really sucks man, didn't get long to settle back down here in Michigan before you have to move again. Well thanks for the help so far and you got to do what you got to do. We will see you on Saturday for sure!

It looks like we may need one or two announcers for the TV taping. Our regular soccer announcer is unavailable; but we do have some phone calls out to others. If you are interested in this, and can announce a game reasonably, let me know.

Hmm I would say I would be interested in it but I think we need all hands on deck for the Herd.

IF there is no one else, maybe i could do it, but I think I'm better use in the stands.

As far as the facebook thing is concerned I think last time it was at like 22, and we all know there was like 7 of us. So if 32 means there are going to be like 12, I'll take it.

I'm going to try to be there as close to 6:30 as possible, I have family that will be over on Saturday but I already told them I have to leave around 6 so as long as I don't get too delayed I'll be there.

I may go check out how much the fabric would cost for a green and orange flag today if I get the time.

I checked to see if there were any teams but all there was the Bradenton Academics. A PDL team. If you here of any in the Tampa area let me know.

If you're a soccer person, Bradenton is the place to be (with the academy being there and all). I never understood why the Academics aren't a better PDL team...unless they don't take players from the Academy (they must not, based on their results).

I thought there was going to be a team in Tampa...maybe I'm wrong.

There will be three of us there at 6:30 in the parking lot! Look forward to meeting all of you and learning some chants. We would have been there last week but our team had a game!

Also, what should we be wearing? Orange and green and/or do they sell Jerseys?

I would say we should stick with Green for this weekend, i don't know what color the Herd tshirts will be but those who bought season tickets should be getting them this weekend.

Look forward to seeing you all there, sounds like we should have a good crowd.

Ya ill be in the parking lot with a silver dodge ram truck. If you pack in the right far side of the parking lot, no one parks there and there is alot of room to kick the ball around and just hang out.Ill probably have the DC United flag hang from the back of my truck because they play that night.

I think we should where those white shirts we got from them. At least till we get our shirts.

For consideration, after Saturday's game we're talking about going to Applebee's or another nearby restaurant for a post-game gathering (at around 9:45 or so). That will be an opportunity to see how things went, and plan for our next game...plus, review ideas for a webpage for The Herd.

See everyone tomorrow night!

For those who bought season tickets, have you gotten them yet? If not, any idea on what to do at the game? Because I'm still waiting.

Anyway, I look forward to meeting all of you tomorrow. I'll be there sometime after 6:30.

Ya I was thinking about that today...I have no clue what we are doing because I didn't get my tickets yet either. I guess we will find out tomorrow, I'm sure they have a list of who bought the tickets and who didn't though. I look forward to it, and maybe I'll print off a few chant lists!

Wanted to say another good showing last night, the group is really gaining. Sounds like we might have even more in Canton next week.

FYI: Here are the Open Cup Qualification Standings:
http://usopencup.com/2008qualification/PDL/242319.html

We did as much as we could last night seeing as Goal Difference is only good for +/-3 so if you win 4-0 you still only get +3 in those standings. 3 more games to go and they won't be easy, but so far so good.
