Once we get this thing started, I think the best thing to do is to go out and track down soccer fans in the Detroit area and around the state.

They're out there...I just don't know why more of them haven't found us online. Soccer clubs...message boards...there's plenty of resources.

I think Facebook is a great way to reach the college-ish age kids. Personally I was drawn to the Bucks by the "Bring an MLS team to Detroit" movement. There are tons of college kids and soccer fans in the are, I think facebook is a good way to get it rolling in the college ranks.

I'm glad people are ready to move forward. I should think that we can organize some sort of meeting in the near future.

At the end of the day the team front office wants a supporters group, but it is all about the people involved. In my opinion, a loose affiliation with the team would best work because a supporters group is exactly that, it needs to be run by the dedicated fans of the team. The team will help with certain things if the group is there to create atmosphere -- not just be a "Fan Club" so to speak.

As I'll be in other places during games I'm not sure that my vote counts, but I can tell you the FO's top choice for the group is The Herd. Please let me know of plans for an initial meeting to get organized as I'd still love to attend.
