June 26, 2005 - The Des Moines Menace traveled to Sioux Falls to take on the Spitfire and walked away with nine goals. This exhibition was the first meeting between the two clubs. The Menace will square off against the Spitfire two more times before the regular season is over.

The Menace opened up the flood gates in the first half pouring in four goals. Sioux Falls added their first and only score of the night just before the half on a penalty kick.

The Spitfire could not stop the bleeding in the second half. Des Moines filled up the net with five more tallies before the final whistle blew. The final score was 9-1.

The Menace are back home on Wednesday, June 29th for what will prove to be the biggest match of the season. The Charleston Battery come to town for the 2nd Round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup to take on Des Moines.

the reason that we play Sioux Falls two more times this season is the same reason LITERALLY 2/3 of the A-League has to play your sorry selves.

I really wish that you would delay running your mouth too much until after you recieve the score sheet tomorrow night. Maybe you can beat us.....(remember we ARE a PDL team), but then again maybe you can't?! Are you nervous?! Bet you are.... and guess what-- you SHOULD BE! Our starters came out within the 24th minute of that 9-1 massacre. Those were our subs after the 3-0 score. All I can say is bring it Battery, you definately will need it!

Gonna be a long ride home after losing to a lowly PDL side, but it seems as though you guys are kind of used to long rides home lately, huh?

At the time Im reading this Des Moines is up 2-0. Could it be that old Buck has his stuck his foot in his mouth so far he choked on it. I`ll kick back and see how this one turns out.

And now it`s 2-2...Andrew doing a great job calling the game. Sounds like the tale of two halves. Buck only has a his big toe in there now.
