I am a Palace supporter but I have a lot of respect for the Monarch ownership, the management and the fans that travelled to UMBC to support their club...
But there is no way that I would call ther first season "disgraceful". Like I told some of their management when we chatted at the DC United-Charleston Battery USOC Championship game (RM were supporting the USL brethren over our local MLS side--they had a banner and everything)--the Puerto Rico Islanders first season was painful.
Crystal Palace needed some time to get started last year. Bermuda had a rough start but showed some improvement last season. Carolina Railhawks struggled.
It's not easy being an expansion club. There is a lot to learn. Some tough blows to the head were taken by all of the clubs...
RM wasn't disgraceful. They had a hard inaugural season. No disgrace in that. Look at what went down with Alas, Cerrito and the very overated (yeah, that is my opinion) Quintanilla not making it because the Ticos of Alajuelense bought his sporadic brilliance and the hype.
RM should have gotten a draw in the final match of the season. The officials bothced a call and my Palace boys got that result with a lot of luck and some help from terrible officiating.
That's my two cents...
