After long discussions between the front offices of the Breakers and the FESL, both parties have choosen to unveil the Breakers in 2010.

The FESL and the Breakers are both fully committed to putting out a top flight team for the panhandle community, however as with all ongoing aspects of the FESL the main commitment is to the sport of soccer and it's growth within the state of Florida and beyond. With Panama City already being home to the newly founded Panama City Pirates of the USL, both the FESL and the Breakers will wait one more year so that the Pirates can continue to grow their product without any potential conflict between the USL and the FESL.

FESL League Commissioner Andre Ruette was quoted on Friday as saying, " Phil Rose and his staff brought forth a wonderful business plan for the Breakers that would of helped to further elevate the league's growth both on and off the field. While the league will always put it's players and fans first, we are also committed to the development of soccer within the state of Florida and we have determined that the best solution to further help the sport develop within the panhandle region was to begin play in 2010, so that the Pirates of the USL could further grow their product unabated from the Breakers or the FESL. Everyone within the FESL is very much looking forward to seeing the Breakers enter into the league, however we are even more enthralled at the prospect of having two fully thriving teams within the panhandle. Additionally, 2010 will also see the immergance of other teams within the region as the league plans to unveil additional expansion franchises in the Tallhassee and Gainsville areas."

The Breakers will be launching their official website in the coming weeks along with additional club information pertaining to their official launch in 2010.
