I am thinking about making the Rochester/Toronto games on July 8 and 9. Came last year and had a problem getting around. The drive from Rochester will put us in Toronto around noon on Sunday, game day. Will fly out Mon from Toronto.

Do you have recommendations for a place to stay? Is there public transportation to the game? Would we have enough time to walk around downtown before a 6:00 pm game? Any suggestions?

If you arrive at noon you would certainly have time to walk around downtown before the game. The stadium is nowhere near downtown, though, so you won't be able to walk to the stadium. It's been some years since I lived in the area but public transit to the stadium is likely not a viable option.
