The attendance the other night was not great, but there were several factors:
1) the website is still not ready for the season (I only gave them nine months notice  )
2) no one sent out any Metros Monitor emails in anticipation of the game
3) the local papers were silent about it as far as I know
4) it was a Sunday night, which is not a usual starting time, and a chilly one at that
I was surprised there were as many people there as did show up.
The field looked terrible and it's sad, really. The recent spell of heavy rains made the ground soft and turned the too many bare spots into mud patches. The way the ball took bad bounces all over the uneven pitch made for difficult play. Honestly, the field my nephew plays on in high school is about as good as Ezell Park and his is in bad shape.
As far as the play on the field, it was fairly evenly-played match. The first Baton Rouge goal was a bad mishandling mistake by Roelke. Take that out of the equation and it was a penalty goal for each side. I noticed that the Metros were playing a little more forward than in the past few years.
