Groan, why did it have to be California? I'm willing to drive quite a distance to see our boys play, but California? I'm afraid that's even a bit much for me. Going by the language included in the announcement I wonder if we put in for a home game in this round or not.

We didn't last year. Wouldn't surprise me if they decided to wait until the 2nd round again.

Glad to see Palace through to round 2 in the Open Cup, with an impending match against Harrisburg. Despite our recent loss to them I feel we can hold our own out on City Island. Haven't had much luck checking out the web cast, but hopefully will be able to see the actual match against L.A. before it is removed from the net.

Big Ups to the Crystal Palace franchise on our historic win last night!!!

Last year, our ownership and coaching staff promised us that we would field a USL2 side that was able to compete with USL1 and even MLS sides in US Open Cup play. They promised the season ticket holders that any USOC matches against MLS clubs that we hosted would be included in the season ticket package.

Last night, they DELIVERED. Our players really showed what they could do. They played fantastic and were clearly the better side.

Brooksy's goal was class, pure class. Marshy's goal was well won in the air.
Nelson made some good saves to keep our momentum going. They were crucial.

1 man down-2 goals up.

We could have really beaten the sub par reserve side that they sent by 4 goals...

Keep sending us your reserve sides MLS and we'll try to keep schooling them. laugh

7 shots (4 on goal) for palace. a yellow card to revs. i can't quite tell the pace of the game, due to boring ol' matchtracker, but it seems like your Palace really showed up tonight!

(sorry, i'm at work waiting for things to happen, so i thought i would post for the hell of it)

halftime, 1-1. pretty darn good for an away game against the #1 team in MLS. Dan Lader with the goal for Palace in the 20th min.

Now that i am able to compose a sentence...

We love you Palace, we do
We love you Palace, we do
We love you Palace, we do
Hey Palace we love you!!!

Big up to my boys and our franchise for battling.
For representing Charm City and the USL2 in a big way.

We came close (I know that "close" don't count when all is said and done).

We let the MLSers know who we be!

Maximu respect to my Kickers peoples and all my peeps on the board that were pulling for us.

A special big shout out to all of the Puerto Rico Islanders fans who were pulling for Palace over on www.hiapr.org

Thanks a lot for the solidarity tonight and over the last week and a half!

I gotta go cry over what coulda been...

Congrats to the Rev!

Good luck the rest of the way.

It took a lot of guts to use a reserve side against us after what we did to Red Bull but Nichols and crew had the guts to do it and their boys rewarded the franchise with a win.

Well done.

Even though you all didn't win I still have to give a big round of applause and say congratulations Yanki. You all took it as far as you could - a much better showing than my Kickers did last week. Though I'm going to pretend that we get some credit for tiring them out from scoring all those goals against us wink

i'm pretty sure Palace turned this Revs back-up defender in another...direction. Maybe the Kickers helped out a little, too.

Yeah.

Too bad Chase didn't finally fully commit to embrace his calling before he faced us in the USOC match...

Just kidding...
