It's official. There can only be one Eagles. That of the mighty Palace. laugh

It was decided here by your parent club's fans on

Before we can hate them properly we need to know more about them. Any girly chants they have apart from nicking our Eagles chant? What kit do they wear, is it pink/purple? Who's their diving forward and who is their manager and has he slept with any under age girls. Does their keeper eat all the pies? Where do their firm drink, that sort of thing.

You do have a lot to learn about them.

Rez, welcome to the board!

Kind of ironic, mate. Your username is "Rez". The Charlotte Eagles are a football club that is run by a Christian Missionary organization. They use football as a way to share their faith with people here in the States and around the world. They are a little hard to hate because their players' behaviour is a lot different than your "usual" footballer. It's kind of like hating the friendly, hardworking local vicar. "Yes", we want to beat them but it's hard to "hate" them because they are so damn classy and nice. And they play good football.

No doubt that they will be our rival along with the Richmond Kickers. I just hope that we can beat them at least once this first season. That would be a great accomplishment.

Cheers!

Hey Yankiboy! Why would Charlotte be your rival if Richmond is the Closer? Should your second rival Team be Harrisburg?

I like Harrisburg. As was mentioned in another thread, our admittedly anachronistic official state song refers to them as "scum." Can't hate on Charlotte. Good players and good people from what I've heard.

Ha ha – Bless ‘em (literally)

My post was slightly tongue in cheek. Although judging by their badge, I did suspect religious connotations. Knowing what you have told me now it makes my post a little funnier.

I suppose they’ll be pretty strong this year with the lord on their side, miraculous injury recovery times, and freak gusts of wind - that sort of thing.

Our football culture isn’t used to franchising – teams leaving their routes etc. So I hope we are in it for the long term. And build a stable base over there. If it is successful expect a few more to do the same.

If I can't make you hate the God-botherers then at least have a strong dislike for Brighton & Hove Albion. And if anyone asks you about Charlton Athletic, you just shrug your shoulders. :p

Someone said my name Rez was ironic... I'm not sure that it is...please explain. Rez is a tune by Underworld. How they named it is anyones business. I'm even more surprised, becuase I never thought that Americans understood irony.

Thanks for the advice on which clubs over their that CP has a rivalry with.

Their used to be a Christian rock band for a long time in the 70's-late 80's or eraly 90's called the Ressurection Band. They were really big in the Jesus music movement. In the mid 80's they changed their name to Rez. Whenever I see that name, I always think of the shortened for of Ressurection. I'm not sure the shortened form of the word may have been aprtially what Underworld had in mind since they could be a bit quirky at times--sort of like a new beginning--not necesarily religous...

For some of us here, a guy going by the username Rez, joking about members of the Charlotte Eagles organization fornicating with underage girls--that is ironic... smile

No disrespect to the other Islanders but Charlotte and Richmond are the "big dogs", so I think that even though we are the new guys on the block and they are a longer drive away--they are going to be rivals just as much as Harrisburg. I could be wrong though.

I always enjoyed sending the MISL Heat home after a Blast victory. I will do the same with Palace. Harrisburg will become our natural rival. We're only 75 minutes away from each other. I have no problems driving that far to harrass opposing fans.
