TSF, make room for ole' Yanki-yank. laugh

Sign me up for the Crystal Palace Baltimore supporters club. This was a really pleasant surprise. I'm looking forward to supporting them. I honestly didn't think that a USL franchise higher than the PDL would even be tried in Baltimore. I hope that the club thrives on the field and survives to continue competing.

My brain certainly hasn't been functioning lately - Yanki I didn't even think about the fact that we would once again be "enemies" - on the field only though of course smile

Oh trust me: I was already thinking about it. I'm already thinking about "invading" URI again. Maybe this time my club will eventually manage to get a point. Except this time, instead of a Puerto Rican flag, I will have to bring a Maryland one. wink

Can you say, "Border War"?!? Oh man, I hope that we are at least relatively competetive the first season.

Well to whom it may concern : If any of the CP fans from across the pond are reading this. Especially the two fans who heckled me about my Birmingham City jersey at the CP - Galaxy game last season. And told me B'Ham would get relegated from the championship this year. Check the standings clowns. But best wishes to Palace in D2. Except when you play us of course.

The despot's heel is on thy shore, Maryland my Maryland! His torch is at thy temple door, Maryland my Maryland! Avenge the patriotic gore that flecked the streets of Baltimore and be the battle queen of yore, Maryland my Maryland!...

I hear the distant thunder hum, Maryland my Maryland! The Old Line's bugle, fife and drum, Maryland my Maryland! She is not dead nor deaf nor dumb, HUZZAH she spurns the Northern scrum, she breathes, she burns, she'll come, she'll come! Maryland my Maryland!

Seriously, as a hardcore "regionalist" or "nativist" or whatever term you want to use-- those lines about the "northern scum"--well, let's just say that they are still controversial to say the least. Not because many of us don't consider ourself southerners but because they seem really very harsh and outdated. Except for when Yankees and Red Sox fans invade Camden Yards. Then they are pretty much AOK.

I wonder will there be a Baltimore Brighton and Hove Albion just to keep the good feeling going?

Personally I would have preferred Baltimore Wimbledon.
