I just want to put this in a public forum...so here goes. I would like to thank all of those associated with bringing professional outdoor soccer back to the Baltimore area. Baltimore has a strong soccer history, and Crystal Palace has helped to further that tradition.
The players who were a part of our inaugural season showed great ability and intensity which created a lively spectator experience for me, my family, and friends.
The player development process over the course of the season allowed us the opportunity to view the players as they improved culminating in a near miss of the playoffs in our first campaign. The players were also wonderful ambassadors for the game, making themselves available to the fans after games, even losses, in an era when most athletes consider themselves above fan interaction.
Finally, I would like to thank the fans of the other entries in USL 2. Both those on this site, and the fans that we were able to meet at Palace home and away games. While we all revel in the competition between our teams we can also take pride in being a part of the greater soccer community.
Here's hoping for another great season in '08 where we can "Build a Palace" that will make for an even more exciting experience for all of the fans of our Eagles!
