Oh, and unlike the nasty weather here, Jerry reports it is 80 degrees and beautiful in the Queen City.

Charlotte leading 2-1 in 89th minute, per the webcast. I haven't heard from Jerry since halftime.

Match over, Eagles win 2-1. Both Charlotte goals scored by Herrera; Richmond's strike scored by Freddie Smith.

hmm, they get a pk, our pk is not given and it winds up costing a point. boo ref. Usually when one team gets a penalty, anything close to penalty the other way is given.

Final from Jerry:

Eagles 2 - 1 Kickers

Herrera. Min 10, 56

Smith. Min 82 (or close to that)

The Eagles played well for 65 minutes and then got defensive. The Kickers played very well the final 25 and had several chances to tie the game. Well played game. Only one unfortunate event - Alex Woods went out with an injury mid way second half. He seemed to have an injury to his elbow or shoulder.
Otherwise it was a great game.

Good luck the rest of the season.

Hey, I'm okay with a loss tonight as long as we split the season series by winning in August. Thanks for the updates, Pattie.

Wow, Burke was pulled early. I've been saying this all season, but the guy's done.

When you can take the pebble from my hand grasshopper.

Burke has some miles (minutes) left in him.

If you say so. Regardless, I don't think you can argue that he's on the decline. See: every free kick and corner he's taken this season.

It's D2 the balls don't have as much air in them. :p laugh

Seriously I have seen him go through slumps like this. I would still want him in my starting 11.
