No real surprise here.... Oh well, I guess the team can totally concentrate on improving our play in the A-League.

You have got to be f*cking kidding me!!! From USLsoccer.com's SoresNOW El Paso 0-3 Atlanta FINAL ***ELP 59'--RED CARD (Schell) ***ELP 62'--RED CARD (Mora) ***ATL 70'--Broder (Akin) ***ATL 77'--Hetherington (Parra) ***ATL 78'--Piesner Both Schell and Mora got red cards at the beginning of the second half. From looking at the score line, the ejections are what f*cked things up. Let's what happened for Mora and Schell to get the cards.

That's what I like, a moderator who keeps his cool at all times. Chuwy, who the hell made the El Paso schedule?

Did we really lose this with 3 goals against us in overtime? That's what it says on Atlanta's site. If so that means we played 50 minutes with nine players. We'll really be great for tomorrow...man do these ejections put us in a bind.

Pats played the first half with EVERYONE behind the ball. You'd have thought they already had a 2-0 aggregate lead the way they were playing. THe pats attackers didjn't have enough pace to catch our defense sleeping. All in all Pats played a terrible game. The first half was the slowest 45 minutes i've EVER seen in the a-league mainly due to El Paso passing back and forth between the backline players. The first red card was for a nasty tackle on our keeper, the second was mora mouthing off to the ref and getting a second yellow to add to one he'd recieved earlier in the match. I just can't figure out why your team comes out in the first half of a match looking like their playing for a draw. I'd say it's lack of attacking players and good head coach. I'm not saying this to incite you, but the pats looked like a d-3 or PDL team tonite.

My mistake, three goals in regulation. At least then we didn't have to play quite as long. Again though, being there on this trip with a small roster is going to kill us tomorrow with these two sitting out!

Hell it woulda been 5-6 nil had the back converted half the chances they had. El-Paso came in playing so defensively it was amazing. They must play like that alot considering the amount of draws they've had this season.

Easy there Hoss, they don't sit out tomorrow, the appeal period takes a few days.

Buck I can't argue with you on this...the results speak for themselves! I'm in agreement, glad it didn't go longer than 90 minutes. And the bit about being in the A-League is exactly my point. Why do you only bring 15 players? This is pro soccer and you have to be prepared for injuries or ejections. What the $#$# are we going to do tomorrow with only 12 tired players!

Honestly Tex don't worry about it, THE 2 red carded guys CAN PLAY SATURDAY! The A League has an appeal period - they don't automatically miss the next match. They may even play 2 matches post-red card before sitting out. We're still gonna cream you but you'll have 11 guys at the start of the match & access to all your reserves you took on the trip - actually I think it's a good rule.

Fellas, didn't we run into this last year?
The weird, off the wall USL rule that states that a red carded player doesn't necessarily sit out next game. Happened last year.
Guess the reasoning is that they don't want to totally screw a team on the road...or for that matter the fans at the next game who might have to see a forfeit if enough guys were thrown out in the previous road trip game..something of a possibility with EPs history and teams taking minimum number of players on road trips. Rosters are very thin for many teams this year due to the simple fact that many have gone out and spent big (for USL) bucks for all these former MLS players.
I know of one team that still has last year's roster up and there must be nearly 30 names on it. Last game they had approx. four people on bench.

Ohhh no, not again! Mora got ejected for arguing with the ref? When will these f*ckers learn not to pull that kind of sh!t on the road. They are not going to win many arguements on the road.

Found this interesting post from a Silverbacks' fan......... Originally posted by Cheaton in the El Paso Series thread in the 'Backs forum :p i think we already have made a habit of it. El-Paso need to find a new strategy and some forwards. Our 6 foot + defenders matched an exceeded their forwards on pace. Great victory for the backs, shake up time for the pats. I see a sacked manager on the way. BTW they have to go play Charleston tomorrow. Poor guys. GO BACKS! We are f*cked!

Originally posted by Drummer in the El Paso Series thread in the 'Backs forum I don't do match reports but suffice to say we had all the chances but couldn't finish. Iggy even missed a penalty kick.
Finally, El Paso got a red card for a vicious sliding tackle on goalkeeper Bergman who was on the ground. This almost resulted in a brawl. Many yellow cards were issued during the game. I couldn't count them all. El Paso lost another player when the PK was awarded for arguing with the referee.
So we finally wore them out after being up 11 on 9. A convincing win, but El Paso helped by self-destructing.
 Self-destructing indeed.

Keep your head up Chuwy (and other fans). I remember the 1998 season when then owner Vincent Lu's "cost cutting" measures led to Atlanta losing almost every single game by scores of something like 0-4; including home games! We almost didn't finish that season when Lu refused to send the team to New York for a road trip. The league stepped in and took the team away; awarding it to our current ownership group. So the point I'm trying to make is that you guys should keep supporting your team and eventually someday things will get better. Things can never get better if you have no team at all. One more thing. The long years of losing and humiliation make this season much more special. So hang in there guys!

Chuwy if one of those punks comes in & plants cleats to Dusty's ribs trust me - the fight will be over before anybody else on the pitch gets there to "help" him, it'll be short & sweet.

The worse part about the first sending off when the guy went in on our goalkeeper is he was evidently Cole Bergmans best buddy at nashville. Guess all bets are off at gametime though.

Could be wrong, but that could probably be Da Silva. He wore 21 at Charleston today.
