What Collegiate/NPSL/USL/MLS team would you most like to see the Patriots play this season in a friendly match?

It would be better to start with a team thats in the same division the patriots are but that its stronger.From there you can go forward an play friendlies against MLS Teams.

We are working on some extra matches this year and I thought I would throw it out to the fans. I like your idea, but at the same time we are working to create some energy and drive bigger soccer in ELP.

Are the patriots moving up in 2009

Still looking at it and working towards USL 1. The biggest hurdle is a stadium. I need 5500 seats with the ability to have all pieces to make it work. We also have to make what we have today work first from both a competitive and financial perspective. We need all the fan support we can get this year so that we have the force in numbers. I was thinking of maybe putting together an advisory committee with some of the fans and sponsors so that we could get the thoughts and ideas from everyone.

Indios de Juarez are not a part of US soccer, either way Indios Juarez, Dynamo and Chivas USA would slaughter the Patriots, which leaves UNM and a hypothetical Indios USA. Personally I would like to see the Patriots play the Rapids PDL team. They would be a good preview of things to come next summer. They roster mainly collegiate players and are a good reference of the teams the Patriots struggled with last year.

Wouldn't it be a better idea for the Patriots to find a coach and a team that can compete period? Hopefully El Paso will not be relying on retired Mexican pro players nor the older El Paso players that do not know when to quit. The philosophy of PDL is a noteworthy one, it would be great to see what can be done if the new GM can bring his experience and plans to a reality. As for moving up, weren't the Patriots going to move up this coming season? The problem with making false promises is that sooner or later the truth comes out and so do the lies.

Friendly games are a good idea, I hope the idea materializes. Regardless we will all come out and support the team and community environment like we do every season. We hope to see some real changes brought on by the new GM. Go Patriots!!!!

What about playing maybe the US or Mexico U18 National Teams.

Surely Indios Juarez would have a junior team or something that could make for a good friendly - low travel costs and generate some across the river rivalry.
