..well...it's nice and all that this team has finally done something significant since 1995 but it doesn't really feel as good as I think it should. I mean, come on they won a division title only after dropping two levels to a league that is full of (no disrespect intended) kids. These college kids do not have the individual skills that set the Pat's apart from the rest of the teams in their division. I attended 3 games this season (really 2 cause I had to leave the season opener 20 minutes into the game cause of an emergency.)and what I mostly saw was men playing against boys. However, a division title is still something to be proud of so congrats to Enrique Cervantes and his team.

The seasons not over yet but next season seems to be a very important time for the Pat's. The most important thing/concern is a stadium. Where will they pay? I hope they can figure somehting out. If I may suggest something, how about the UTEP womens field on campus? I know its probably not possible (I dont think the team and UTEP would like to deal with each other again) but as a last resort i don't think it would hurt. I was thinking recently that I am sure Enrique Cervantes must be kicking himself now if he ever had a chance to purchase the old farrah building when no one wanted it. A nice 10K (MAX) stadium along with a bunch of practice fields would look real damn nice on that site. Maybe if this whole towne centre crap falls through (which I think it will) EC can buy the land cheap and build a nice facility. (I know its highly doubtful but hey, I can dream can I) Or another option could be for EC to buy up the land around the training facility and just build a stadium around it. (I know nothing of the situation but it seems like the most likely.) With the manufacturing sector constantly taking a beating around here, I'm sure there a couple factories that are empty around that area. Although the railroad behind the facility may pose problems to that scenario.

I had a lot of stuff I wanted to post on to get some discussion going on but I kinda of forgot now so i'll be back later. However, before I go I must speak out on one of my pet peeves. To all these stupid juarenos who attend the games, learn some ****ing respect. When you see the national anthem being played, stand up, stand still and shut the **** up!! I know if I did that during your national anthem, you pendejos would have a heart attack. Sorry, but it annoys me to no end that these ****ers do this.

Chuwy, good to see you again!

I hear Diana is fine -- just dehydrated.

The last scenario seems likely right now, but a possible move to back to the Socorro Complex could also happen. I've wondered openly about a move to that new complex they're building in Canutillo.

UTEP would be open to a helpful and open pocketbook -- don't kid yourself -- but selling beer might be an issue at that new site. It would cost money, so the Pats might as well go back to the Sun Bowl.

Yeah, Mercado, Frias and Larrosa are the men among boys, but remember how the Pats used to look like the boys among men in the A-League? Remember, most every team has a couple of these older players. If you saw the very last match you got to see a former Premiership player in Ian Bishop, who played for Man. City, among a couple of others, and for the late Miami Fusion. Apparently, they had another player who played at that level, but they had a rash of injuries.

I really think a big difference is skill on the ball. That Latin style works at this level with defenses that aren't as good as the A-League.

Hopefully, the Pats will win their very first playoff game. They'll have to follow that up with another win the next day if we're going to see 'em back here, but it certainly has been an entertaining regular season.
