Looking foward to a good year.
Maimi FC will be a bit of unkown for the second match. First year team susually don't start to well but tend to raise the bar by mid season.
The away swing at the end of the season is daunting. Three tough teams hopefully we wont' suffer teh injury bug too much at that point cause we finsih the year with the Rhinos wheich look to be building a hell of a team.
I think if can keep our player turnover rate to a minimum, add a proven foward and a veteran player or two, we should do well.
And now that Auggies rookie season is over, how much pressure do you think he will have this year to at least make the playoffs?

It depends... if the Battery HQ spend serious $$$ to bring in impact players I would say there would be tremendous pressure on Auggie. On the other hand, if we have another fairly young, inexperienced team -- there's still pressure, but the expectations will be on par with the expenditures (probably somewhere mid-table).

Briliant schedule by Battery F/O - about the time the kids go back to school in August the team hits the road - I wonder where the Open Cup Matches will dovetail in?

I agree that's a great looking schedule for the Battery. Since we finished in the bottom four of the first division we will again be placed into the second round of the US Open Cup. I'd put some serious money on having that match right inbetween the Derby Cup Series with Atlanta. June is seemingly already bursting at the seems with a ton of juicy matches. Also the end of the schedule is looking pretty solid as well. We are squaring off against tob of the table talent, who should be clinched or within a hangnail of being in the playoffs. That's good because you know the "A" teams will be replaced with some softer friendly "B" side starters.

If we assume the same setup for 2006, looking at a Wed, 6/14 USOC match, we play the preceeding Sunday in PR and the following Sunday at home against Vancouver. Hopefully, no cross country midweek trip a la Des Moines gets thrown in there. A matchup against a local team like Wilmington or Charlotte would be nice. Even if we have to play away, that's not too bad. Could even manage a little road trip for either of those teams.
