Saw the announcement that Mo Johnston was hired as Head Coach of the new 2007 Toronto MLS squad. (I thought Frank Yallop was lined up for that job since he left the Canadian National team in June). Got me to thinking. It's no secret Mark enjoys coaching. Doing it for the Battery this year and has been with the Canadian U-23's in the past. I wonder if hooking up with Toronto FC as a coach is in his future? I would think they'd want/need some folks who know Canadian players, particularly young ones who they can build the new Toronto team with. And I doubt Johnston is that knowledgeable person. I think Mark would be a good candidate for some role. Anyone know if he's interested?

Shhh...! Let's keep his coaching skills quiet. He is such an asset to this team I would hate to lose him. Auggie would be lost again.

Mark bought a house in Chucktown and is in love with the area. I think you'll be seeing him in black n yellow for awhile.

Johnny Wilson also owns a house and loves the area. So does Bobby Convey. But if you get a "higher calling", sometimes, you gotta go.

I hear you but let's just say a little birdie told me he's rather happy there.

I have no intel, that's why I started the thread. I hope everyone's right and Mark puts down some seriously long roots here.

I agree, he's a quality guy that most teams would kill for. Best thing is, is that Mark is worth bags of gold off the pitch and he's also worth another few bag's of gold on the pitch too.

I'll always respect him for welcoming in Feddy Adu the proper way, plus not to mention his amazing career over sea's and wearing the mighty maple leaf.

It looks like the future of the Battery coaching could very well be Mike, Mark, and Dustin...to me that'd make a lot of sense, especially as good as Dustin is training and teaching young goalkeepers (just look at how Keith has progressed, and I can speak from first hand experience that he really is a solid keeper coach as well)
