A warning or a prediction...hmmm...having witnessed your previous play in Richmond, I most definitely believe your players fit the ugly role...and I believe that your style of play will continue to accurately reflect wellington_sc's concluding remarks in the last topic's post.

Wouldn't it be refreshing if your Chucktown Brats simply played a finely executed football game for a change and didn't need to win by grabbing, holding, dragging down, or planting cleats when the refs' back is turned???

Hampton,

Can we quote you on that when Buck starts accusing the Kickers of doing the same thing..and then calls us thugs because of it?

Though in my opinion it may be part of the game, but it doesn't need to be. And in the Charleston/Richmond games I've seen, the Battery had done far, far more of it than the Kickers.

I just think it goes on from game to game (right or wrong), obviously some more than others. Tempers and frustation happen with each game. I'm not envolved or speaking about what other people say. We watch soccer games and some are more dirty than others. All I'm saying is that it can go along with the teritory.

I agree with what you're saying Hampton. Just personally I'd like to see more of the clean stuff and less of the dirtier plays.
Though I think a lot of time the guys out on the pitch aren't trying to play dirty. They're just going so hard and playing with so much heart at times that things just get out of hand unintentionally.

I'd say both teams are just as guilty -- teams that are hungry for victory play hard not dirty.

Only part I can figure out is that maybe you can actually count past 10. You are all over those refs when it goes against ya. But when you find a stat you think you can use you kiss up to them . Buckhole everyone on this board KNOWS you are an idiot. But please keep posting so the newcomers can see also. BTW you never did say if you were attending the game here. We were gonna tailgate and invite the Charleston fans. Kind of a bury the hatchet thing.

I saw the highlights on channel 6. From what I saw Luzak did not commit a foul. It looked like he was trailing the player and as Ronnie attempted to clear the ball his foot got the Chas. player. However a lot depends on which angle the ref saw it at. Also all I saw was a quick clip of it. So really its hard to say but if I was put on the spot I would say that there was really no intent. Especially knowing that Ronnie is not a dirty player.Just my .02

After reviewing the game tape, League officials have changed the red card from Peter Luzak to Ronnie Pascale. From personally viewing the game tape, Klein made a great touch to the side and as he was about to go by Ronnie, Ronnie's foot caught his upper thigh, spinning him around. Unfortunately, the way Klein hit the ground caused the injury.

Ronnie will serve his one-game suspension on August 23rd against the Charlotte Eagles.

Klein's injury was unfortunate, but it happens sometimes. I don't think the Richmond player intentionally "keaned" Klein.

Both teams are going to play hard in this series and it should be fun to watch. A little controversy makes it all the more interesting...

MORE CHEAP SHOTS BY THE KNICKERS ARE DOCUMENTED ChuckA posted 09-10-2002 09:33 AM
Woods came back in to the game for the final couple of minutes of the first half. He had a very noticeable limp. He did not return for the second half. I thought he was in a considerable amount of pain.

I have to add that I thought that was one of the worst officiated games I have seen in a long time. I don't think it played in the outcome of the game. But, some of the calls were incredible. And, appeared one sided.

The linesman in front of drummer especially. How he was able to miss that long haired Italian guy knee a couple of players surronding the ref is amazing to me.

Remember who wrote that stuff... an Ape fan, so it is going to be a biased opinion. Nevertheless, I hope we have a good crew of refs for this series...

It seems to me that Wellington seems to have a grip on the situation here. Him and Mikey seem to be tho only ones in Cahrleston who see things the way they are. While Buckhole and his cast of characters seem to have a bad case of tunnel vision. As before I never said Ronnies foot did not clip Klein. Only that I know it wasnt intentional. You know like Wall diving cleats first at Hendo the other night after play was stopped. Now thats intentional.
