I went to MLS.com to read their account of the Battery vs. Red Bull NY game.
http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20060322&content_id=54275&vkey=news_mls&fext=.jsp In the article, Andrew Mosier wrote:
Battery forward Ben Hollingsworth put the home side on score sheet in the 14th minute after running through the Red Bulls three-man back line and awkwardly sidefooting the ball past a closing Tony Meola. Meola did manage to get a piece of the ball with his right foot, but it wasn't enough to push the ball wide as Red Bulls defenders stood watching as the ball rolled ever so slowly before stopping just over the goal line .
I then watched the actual goal.
http://www.uslsoccer.com/ An article on the game under Mosier's byline appeared on the Battery website and USLsoccer.com which did not include the belittling comments. I don't know who edited the articles to play for the different audiences, but it led to a disingenuous result for this fan.
Note to Mr. Mosier: The only thing "awkward" was Meola on his back.
