Yes, he played last week. This week?

I had forgotten that someone said Evans would be a no-show. I hope he is donating a kidney to his sister, shipping out to the Middle East, or called up to the California National Team to miss the Final. I've had this date in my calendar since January. Missing the Final=wierd confused

The USL press release

It credits a goal line clearance to Cobi Goodfellow. I think it was Tommy Rutter.

MOTM to R. Breza

Congratulations to Utah!

I watched the whole thing beginning to end (almost 3 full hours!) and Utah certainly earned that trophy. I thought Jorge Estrada had a good game early, but ran out of gas late, and I was afraid his missed PK was going to decide it. But now the coach looks like a genius for putting in the reserve keeper two minutes before the end of the game. Jorge definitely owes that keeper a gold watch or something! I thought Carmichael did very well late in the game, as did Jayson Boyce (who I remember playing against our A-League Flash when Jayson played for the Orange County Zodiac.)

In the one game I saw of Utah live this year, I remember Adolfo Ovalle as being a real leader and an organizing force in the back. I was wondering where he was, but then he came on right at the end and cooly scored a PK.

The telecast was crap, especially during the PKs. We didn't even get to see the winning save live, just the keeper running across the field. And the announcers we pretty bad too. But I guess that's what the third division of soccer gets! I should just shut up and be grateful that it was even on national TV, right?

If the Blitzz move aside for MLS next year, this is a great way to go. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Blitzz. I wonder if the Chris Agnello critics are going to still find fault with the guy? They (or is it just one "he") sound a lot like the "Fuera Sigi" crowd that were always on the Galaxy boards. Of course, they got their wish, getting a championship winning coach in first place fired. I hope Doug Hamilton doesn't take over the Blitzz to do the same to Agnello!

Congratulations again, you deserved it!

I read in the Deseret News that Matt Evans had something wrong with his knee.

"Utah's talented midfielder Matt Evans didn't make the trip to Charlotte because of a knee injury, while defender Will Cummins is out thanks to a red-card in the semifinals."

Richie Breza retired after the game. He said that he'll still work with the Blitzz next season in some capacity, but he's done playing. What a way to finish off your career, on top.

And I don't know if anyone watched the replay, but they completely cut out the overtime periods. They went straight to the PK's after regulation ended.

If they went right to the penalty kicks from the end of regulation, why did the match tracker show all 120 minutes of overtime?

Wow! What a game.
Yes, the Blitzz DID earn the win/trophy/Championship!
What a comeback!

I did record the re-broadcast after watching the game live. I'm very disappointed that they didn't show the overtime, but they did get the shootout.

Let me know if you want a copy.

There was an overtime in the original broadcast, but when they rebroadcast the game, they cut out overtime. I have the whole game recorded on two different tapes. Regulation and one overtime on one tape, second overtime and PK's on another tape.
