Just me, or did Rochester change their official name and drop "Ragin'" from their moniker when they were sold?!

Looking at the USL website, they still have the old name up everywhere, but with the new logo...hello, Beuller?

Hello.

From an "Our Sports Central" (online sports site that specializes in minor league sports) report:

"United Soccer Leagues First Division: The USL First Division's Rochester Raging Rhinos franchise, along with the women's W-League franchise, have been sold to a new ownership group that plans to keep the teams in Rochester. Although the new owners considered a complete renaming of the club, they decided to simply shorten the name to the Rochester Rhinos as they prepare to participate in the upcoming 2008 season. The Raging Rhinos started play in the old A-League in 1996 before that league became part of the USL the following season. A Rochester women's team called the Ravens started play in the 1996 W-League and became the Raging Rhinos Women in 2006."

As far as the Rhinos' website, some of it has been changed over, some has not. However, all of the official news releases since the sale of the team have been Raging-less.

"So, not just you", reassures

Since they hate the name "Raging", I guess us fans know which button to push with our songs and chants.......

They need to change the logo again to... do a quick google search for rhinos logos and you get a clip art site basically for t-shirt designs.

I always thought "raging hormones" hehe.

What I'm really wondering, is why they changed the logo. The old logo with the ball on the Rhinos' tusk was pretty hot. The clip-art one is pretty cheapo and lame.

If they really wanted to eliminate the "raging" part from the old logo, it wouldn't have been that difficult.
