Well, word on the street is that Milwaukee will not participate in A-League play for the 2005 season. If it's true, I'm sorry for that, but the 12-team alignment with each team playing every other team is definitely an exciting prospect. By grouping them as one this season, no harm will be done should any of the four who were outed return in 2006.

If the rumor is true, who will become the chosen team for the Minnesota faithful to pick on?!

If the rumor is true, it will be interesting to see the ramifications of having no pro team here for the first time in 12 years. Milwaukee youth soccer has always been more powerful than, and also quite resistant, to the pro team. I could write a frickin' book.

I am sincerely sorry that Milwaukee will not be represented. Rivalries are so important in any sport.

I think every team in the A League can cite strong youth leagues that do not translate into pro fans that attend games. It is perhaps the biggest problem that US soccer has to overcome.

not even De Moines could replace the rivalry between MN and Milwaukee. Heres hoping, if you guys are gone, that you return to the league soon.

PS
What is Johnny Torres doing next summer? smile

Below is a link to article about the Chicago Storm and some things that they want to do. They are going to build a indoor and outdoor facility. The article also mentions playing some outdoor games this summer. It mentioned Milwaukee, St. Louis and Minnesota.

jaydog was correct. Milwaukee will not play A-League ball in 2005. I'm guessing there will be an article in the local rag tomorrow, www.jsonline.com.
