Nice to hear that the Wave will most likely be back in the 1st div. Also great to hear King is back out on the pitch again....classy guy. http://www.jsonline.com/sports/socc/jun05/333490.asp

This is good news... Now the questions begin. To keep the league with an even number of teams, Who from USL D1 would drop to USL D2? -or- Who from USL D2 could move up?
Best solution I think... Virginia Beach moves down to USL D2 Wilmington debuts at the USL D1 level. Either Long Island, Harrisburg move up to USL D1.
2006 USL D1 Teams... (14) Montreal Impact Charleston Battery Richmond Kickers Portland Timbers Vancouver Whitecaps Rochester Raging Rhinos Seattle Sounders Minnisota Thunder Milwaukee Wave United Puetro Rico Islanders Atlanta Silverbacks Toronto Lynx Wilmington Hammerheads Harrisburg City Islanders
2006 USL D2 Teams... (10) Charlotte Eagles Pittsburgh Riverhounds Western Mass Pioneers Long Island Rough Riders Cincinnatti Kings New Hampshire Phantoms Virginia Beach Marineers Atlantic City Diablos Northern Virginia Royals Syracuse/Detroit/etc

When the hounds got new owners in the offseason, they had mentioned moving the team up in the future. The talk I'd been hearing is that the hounds would move back up to the next level next season. But I've not heard anything lately. After our record last season(19-3-1), I would hope we would be among those considered. www.goldentrianglesoccer.com (Covering the hounds F.C. and Sparks)

USASOC, hows attendance looking for you guys? only reason i even mentioned Harrisburg was the random sellout crowds. Long Island I just pulled out of my arse. I didn't write Charlotte or Pittsburgh just because I figured they may be "settling in" to the USL D2 because of income. I mean they dropped to the PSL(USL D2) in 2004 after going 15-9-4 in a tough Norteast division containing Rochester, Syracuse and Montreal. Its not like Pittsburgh has had problems getting talent lately... seems more like butts in the seats.

Looking just at the travel aspect, I think Baltimore would be a better fit than any team in Florida.
A team in Baltimore could bus to any/all away games against teams currently in the USL 2nd Division. A team from Florida couldn't bus to New Hampshire, Western Mass, Long Island, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh or Cincinnati!...ok, maybe they could but you couldn't get ME to do any of those trips!

It's good to hear the Wave United appears to be on it's way back.
I moved back to Wisconsin from Indiana after the 2003 season for the Blast, and was looking forward to attending Wave United games. When I heard that wasn't going to happen this year, I thought there was no chance to take my budding 2 year old player to a real game outside of Chicago.
I enjoy attending an MLS game there occasionally, but having something a little closer and better priced is nice to frequent.

For Milwaukee fans. The Wave United have an exhibition game against Chicago on September 10. We, as fans, need to market this game. I am doing what I can from Madison.
